Volunteer (adults)
Come join our volunteer team!
We have volunteer opportunities available in both our office and kennels for volunteers aged 18 and over, who can commit to a couple of mornings a week for at least six months. We hold regular Coffee Mornings at our shelter to share more information about the different volunteering opportunities available. If you would like to join the next Coffee Morning, give us a call!
Volunteer (students)
Learn about what we do and gain service hours.
Twice a year, we host an in-shelter program for students to earn Bronze level Duke of Edinburgh or CAS Program credits. The program is designed for students 14-18 years old and takes place over the course of six weeks on Saturdays in our shelter. Please watch our social media channels for more information on the next program date.
Students over the age of 14 can participate in our dog walking program to earn credit hours for DoE or CAS programs. Each dog walk counts towards two credit hours. To participate, please call our office to book an appointment.

Dog Walking
Give a dog an outing from the kennels
​During the cooler months, you can take one of our K9 dogs for a walk! This is a fun and rewarding way to help our dogs get exercise and socialization, while providing valuable feedback that helps us match them with the right forever home.

Program Details:

Available Monday through Thursday and Saturdays during the cooler months with dog collection between 9:30am and 11:30am and return by 5:00pm.

Walkers must be at least 14 years old and accompanied by an adult.

Own transport is required to take the dog to a suitable location; we can provide recommendations if needed.

A maximum of two service hours can be credited per walk.

Spaces are limited and advance booking is essential. Bookings cannot be made via WhatsApp, email, or social media.

Fostering
Provide a dog with a short term home.
If you aren't able to adopt a dog, you may be able to help us by providing a short term foster home. Fostering gives us valuable information on how our dogs react in a home environment and on their personality. It also gives some of our long term resident dogs a break form the kennel.
